All of the automated checks to verify a user’s identity are performed in real time and are completed before the user can move on to the next check. For example, the user will see a loading screen after taking a selfie while their likeness is being processed, and won’t be able to move past this step until this processing is complete. So, a user’s identity verification will be complete before they exit Link (this is just the background processing - if they trip a customer’s rules, their verification will need manual review).
Latency for each check is approximately as follows:
- Data Source Verification: 1-2 seconds
- Documentary Verification: 2-10 seconds
- Liveness: 2-5 seconds
- Watchlist screening: instant
- Fraud checks: instant/async
