By default, Plaid will store users’ IDV data for the duration of our relationship with the customer. You may redact PII from individual sessions on demand via the Plaid Dashboard and/or configure custom retention policies.
To redact PII via the Plaid Dashboard, select the "Redact User Data" button on any IDV session. See below for how the session will appear once the PII is redacted:
Custom retention policies will automatically redact user data from all completed IDV sessions after a period of time defined by your team. They can also be defined for the entire organization or at the IDV template level. Right now, setting up a custom retention policy is not self-serve; the Plaid team has to configure it for each client upon request. Please reach out to Plaid Support or your Account Manager to inquire about setting a custom data retention policy. When reaching out, please share the following information:
- Whether you want the policy set for the entire organization or for a specific IDV template
- If a template, please share the ID or name of the template
- The retention policy length (in days)
