The path to OAuth institution access depends on which plan you're on.
If you're on a Trial plan
Trial plan customers have access to most OAuth institutions without completing the full Production registration requirements. Plaid collects the necessary information during Trial plan signup, so you do not need to separately provide application display information, company information, the MSA addendum, or the Plaid security questionnaire. You can start connecting to OAuth institutions right away.
Some institutions may require additional registration steps even on a Trial plan. If you are unable to connect to a specific institution, contact support for help.
If you step up to a paid plan, you will need to complete the full OAuth registration requirements described below. Most of this information is collected during Trial plan sign up, though a few fields are optional at that stage. You can fill in any missing details from the Compliance Center of the Dashboard.
If you're requesting full Production access (US-based integrations)
For US-based integrations, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Request Production access from Plaid. Production access — via either a paid plan or a Trial plan — is a prerequisite for supporting OAuth in the US. Plaid will contact you once your account has been enabled for full Production.
- Complete the registration requirements. Before implementing support for OAuth institutions, be sure to complete the registration requirements in the Plaid Dashboard. This includes providing application display information, company information, agreeing to the Plaid Master Services Agreement, and completing the Plaid security questionnaire.
You can view the OAuth institutions page on the Dashboard to see the current status of your registration.
For Europe-based integrations
For Europe-based integrations, you will need at least Limited Production access to use OAuth institutions. (The Trial plan is currently available only to developers in the US and Canada.)
