There are a few steps that must be taken to successfully switch from Plaid’s Sandbox or Development environment to Plaid’s Production environment.
If you haven't gotten Production access yet, reach out to our Sales team. They will be in touch to walk you through the necessary compliance steps.
Once you've been granted Production access, follow these steps to migrate over:
- Change the environment in your Link initialization code – Set
- Ensure your API requests are being sent to the right host – Switch from using Sandbox endpoints, which begin with
https://sandbox.plaid.com/, or Development endpoints, which begin with
https://development.plaid.com/, to Production endpoints, which begin with
- Make sure to use the appropriate client
secret– Ensure that you specify your Production
secretrather than your Sandbox or Development
secret.See Account > Keys within your Dashboard.
You should now be submitting valid Production requests. Note that the Sandbox and Development environments are entirely distinct from the Production environment. An
Item originally created in Sandbox and Development will need to be created again in Production.
