Plaid bills for events that occur in our Production environment only.
For our Auth, Balance, Transactions, Identity, and Income products, Plaid bills based on
Items that were successfully created in our Production environment. A successful creation is indicated by Plaid returning an
access_token in response to requests made to the
The specific billing event for each
Item is based on the products it has accessed. These products fall into one of three categories:
- One-time fee endpoints: Using an
access_tokento access Auth, Identity, or Income incurs a one-time fee, charged either when an
Itemis created—according to the products for which Link is initialized—or when an
access_tokenis first used to access one of those products’ endpoints. Subsequent requests to these products' endpoints should not incur further fees.
- Per-request endpoint: Each successful request to the Balance endpoint incurs a fee.
- Monthly fee endpoint:
Items that were successfully created with Transactions as a product, or used in a request to the Transactions endpoint (thereby adding Transactions to an
Item's billed products), incur a monthly fee.
Itemsthat have since entered a state where data cannot be retrieved—
itemsin error or that need to be updated—will continue to be billed.
Note that a deleted
Itemwill last be billed for the month in which is was deleted. For example, an
Itemdeleted on January 1st will be included in January's bill, which you will receive in the beginning of February, but not in February's bill, which you will receive in the beginning of March.
These are general billing guidelines for Plaid's Growth pricing tier. Please refer to your Services Agreement for specific billing terms.
